A project born from tradition
Gentle Window 2 is a new wine project born when António Alves da Costa acquired his first estate, with 6 hectares, in Minho. Passionate about wine production, he decided to follow up on this same passion shared by his father, António Alves da Costa (1925- 1992), and his grandfather, José Alves da Costa (1900-1973), a farming family in Vila Nova de Famalicão.
The decision to launch his own wines on the market came when his sons Diogo (2018) and Martim (2021) were born, believing he would be able to pass on to them the taste for the land and the passion that has been uniting generations.
A passion that spans generations
In the first generation, grandfather José produced wines for home consumption and local sale. In the second generation, father António produced wines, mainly reds, to be sold in bulk, in 250 and 500L barrels, for the taverns and restaurants in the region.
In the third generation, António and Alisa invest in the development of a vitiviniculture activity with a different dimension from that of their ancestors, because they believe that the fourth generation will embrace with the same passion the taste for producing quality grapes for the creation of Vinhos Verdes of excellence, whether still or sparkling.
